Restaurant “Goiserermühle” (Goiserer mill)
Relish on Lake Hallstatt
The unique location of the Goiserer Mühle, direct in the well maintained spa gardens of Bad Goisern, is a magical attraction to many of our guests. Our restaurant lies directly by the romantic babbling Mühlbach (mill stream), where you can watch the many fish and ducks swimming or simply dangle your legs in the stream. A particularly charming blend of tradition and modernity is reflected in the architecture, as well as in all the rooms of our house. The romantic parlour with old vaults is combined with contemporary furniture and modern art.
Regional and seasonal
Who doesn’t yearn for fresh, healthy and tasty food directly from the region? This is in fact also the secret to a delicious, authentic cuisine. We cook exclusively with natural products and foods from local farmers and producers. Depending on the season, we also use exactly what is growing around us at the time - simply because this is when it tastes its best. Of course we also make our own noodles for the pasta and the homemade “Sulz” (meat in aspic) is one of our classics. When eating, there should be no class distinctions; therefore moderate prices are of great importance to us.
Freshly caught fish
Unique Location
Fish from our crystal clear rivers and lakes are an important concern to us. Therefore, we are also a member of the Salzkammergut fish restaurants and the gourmet region "Salzkammergut Reinanke (whitefish)". Our specialty is Lake Hallstatt char in a mountain-salt crust, a regional variant of the Italian classic "sea bass in sea salt crust" and Reinanke (whitefish) fried in butter.
Holiday in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt
The wide and charismatic valley of Bad Goisern stretches out from Hallstatt in the south to Bad Ischl, the summer holiday resort of the emperor in the north. Discoveries dating back to the Stone Age and the Hallstatt period enable us to establish that there was a close contact with villagers from the surrounding regions. The wood and agriculture industry developed very early in the wide fertile valley of Bad Goisern, to supply the mine in Hallstatt. This is how Bad Goisern is where it is now, on prettiest landscapes of the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut. This enchanting village used to be called “The Monarchies most beautiful village“ and still hasn’t lost any of its charm. Among the most beautiful places of interest are the oldest salt mine in the world and the ossuary in Hallstatt, a romantic boat ride on Lake Hallstatt, a trip to the breathtaking cave world in Obertraun and a visit to the Lake Gosau with the mighty Dachstein glacier. Additionally, Bad Goisern is popular in the summer with hikers and bikers. In winter guests are lured in by the ski areas of Dachstein West in Gosau and the Ski and Freeride Arena in neighboring Obertraun with perfect slope conditions. We wish you an unforgettable holiday in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt.
