Franz Sartori (1813): "Who is more to be envied than the inhabitants of a place in whose region nature herself exhibited her beauty." The love of nature which was emerging everywhere and the paintings which had become well known helped to make the Salzkammergut fashionable. It also became a playground for lesser talents. The countless steel engravings that have been preserved are from masters whose names we do not know. Guest house and coffee rooms "Zur Dachsteinwarte" - (Lackner), "recognised as the most popular place for lunch and snacks" in its original condition. Vinzenz Riezinger by the kettle holes.

On the left hand bank above the bridge, kettle holes can be recognised. On the bank of the stream there used to be a water-driven fl our mill, and then from 1814 a stone grinding workshop. The last person to use this was Vinzenz Riezinger (1835 - 1915). Today only the remains of the stone foundations still bear witness to this once signifi cant craft. The remains of a timber grille that was placed across the brook to catch fl oating logs are visible. Further remains of this can also be seen in the stretch above the bridge.
