Glissade for everyone!

Tobogganing and sleigh rides

Fresh powder snow covered meadows and fields. The winter magically transforms many hills and slopes in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt, Gosau, Hallstatt and Obertraun into ideal toboggan runs. No matter what type it is: whether a classic wooden sled, a colorful plastic one, or a black inner tube - the main thing is, it gets you fantastically down the toboggan run. Winter fun without "Planks" can be found on all the Toboggan runs within the Inner Salzkammergut. A fun sledge ride should of course include a stop off in one of the many rustic alpine huts! So grab your sledge and enjoy pure sledging fun in a magical winter landscape. Below are some recommendations of the most popular sledding slopes in the UNESCO World heritage site of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut.

Tobogganing on a forest road in Hallstatt

Especially the "Waldbachleitn" in Hallstatt is a popular toboggan run. Although the forest road is Echerntal not an official toboggan run, is has been used for many years, by both locals and visitors, as a toboggan run. Therefore the use of the approximately two-kilometer track is free of charge at your own risk. You can rent sledges from the sports shop Janu in the centre of Hallstatt.

With high speed and torches through the night

The 1-km long natural toboggan run Rabenkogel in Gosau Hintertal promises an exciting adventure for the whole family. An unforgettable experience is the torchlight sledging every Friday evening at 19:00 o´clock. The torches along the toboggan run ensure a unique atmosphere. With a height difference of only 200 vertical meters the track is suitable for all ages.

Bad Goisern: Floodlit Tobogganing

Sledging in Bad Goisern will not only delight children: Race down the floodlit Trocktann toboggan run with sledge, bob, Glider or like Stefan Raab in a wok. This is right next to the World Championship track from 1992. After a climb of approximately forty minutes and overcoming 300 vertical meters you reach the sledge huts which are open daily during the winter months and in good snow conditions. Groups are welcome by prior arrangement: This is sledging fun for young and old, for the more energetic and leisurely sledgers. Parking facilities are provided at the site of the Nordic ski jump centre in the village of Ramsau. Toboggans can be rented at the local ski hire shops. We would like to point out that there is no sledge rental at the start or finish of the approximately 1400 meter long toboggan run and that the run is closed for tobogganing daily from 12.00 - 13.00 clock from 17.00 to 18.30.
