Take the bus into the World Heritage

All four towns (Hallstatt, Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt, Gosau and Obertraun) of the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut are connected to the Postbus network of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Therefore it is easy to reach Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt, Gosau, Hallstatt and Obertraun by public transport.

The most frequented line is the route from Salzburg to Lake Hallstatt and the Gosau Valley. The post bus line starts at the main station in Salzburg, takes you past the Lake Fuschl and Lake Wolfgang to Bad Ischl, where you will have to change.

The bus stops right in front of the station. Alternatively, you can continue your journey by train (ÖBB). If you chose to take the bus, this will take you to Hallstatt, Obertraun and Gosau in about 30 minutes. Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt can be reached within 15 minutes. Whatever you choose, we wish you a good trip!
